Indians23 [email protected] http://www.webspawner.com/users/indians23/index.html Last Edited: July 3, 2004 NASCAR Thunder 2004 Corner Speeds For Tracks These are my recommended speeds you need to get down to at the beginning of the turns. I only do turns 1 and 3 because turns 2 and 4 aren't needed because they are apart of turns 1 and 3. ATLANTA Turn 1- 165-175 mph Turn 3- 165-175 mph NOTE: Go slower on worn tires. BRISTOL Turn 1- 100 mph Turn 3- 100 mph CALIFORNIA CHICAGOLAND DARLINGTON Turn 1- 145 mph Turn 3- 135 mph NOTE: For turn 3, get down to whatever speed you feel comfortable with. DAYTONA JUST GAS UP THE CAR ALWAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!! DOVER HOMESTEAD-MIAMI INDIANAPOLIS INFINEON Road Course- Just do several practice laps to find your speeds KANSAS LAS VEGAS Turn 1- 145 mph Turn 3- 145 mph LOWE'S MARTINSVILLE Turn 1- 60 mph Turn 3- 60 mph MICHIGAN NEW HAMPSHIRE Turn 1- 90 mph Turn 2- 90 mph NORTH CAROLINA Turn 1- 120 mph Turn 3- 120 mph PHOENIX POCONO RICHMOND Turn 1- 100 mph Turn 3- 100 mph TALLADEGA JUST GAS UP THE CAR ALWAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!! TEXAS WATKINS GLEN Road Course- Just do several practice laps to find your speeds I will get more as soon as I find them out. You can go to Thunder License to check out what they say, but I like to be the judge of the corner speeds. I will include the fantasy courses also, as soon as I figure them out. TIPS Martinsville / Richmond- If a guy comes to your inside right before turn 3, lightly push him over to the left. He will either run into the pit or blow his engine by smacking the yellow barrier that seperates the pit from the track. At Richmond, the yellow barrier is in turn 4. You have to wait until turn 4 to push him left. Infineon- On the first hill, they break alot. You don't have to slow down quite as much. Get to the left of the field and slowly, but faster than them, go up the hill. On the straightaway before the hairpin turn, get to the inside away from the pit. They slow down alot sooner than you should. When they start breaking, you should just let off the gas. When you are close enough, break and be on the inside (you should already be on the inside). Get good acceleration off the turn and away you go. I got fifth place my rookie year at Infineon following these techniques. Daytona / Talladega- During your first pit stop, change right tires only. On second pit, change left tires only. Go back and forth between the two sets. During a caution flag, you might just want to change all tires. Also, when the cars pull off to go to the pits and you are too, go next to them, not behind them. They brake so early it isn't even funny. You should just let off the gas. Darlington- The cars pull off to go to the pit too early. Wait until you are about done with turn 3. Then sharply turn off. This isn't a good idea if you have worn tires like I accidentally did during the Carolina Dodge Dealers 400 my rookie year in my career. My right side smashed into the yellow barrier. Three guys were around me and they were all wrecked. Two of my teammates were in the wreck with me. I came back and got 9th place behind Jeff Gordon. Michigan / California / Chicagoland / Kansas / Las Vegas- At turn 1, most of the guys start slowing down for turn 2 on the outside. Go on the inside and pass alot of cars. Just get ready to break for turn 2!!!!!
